Challenge

A global company had decentralized procurement: many low-value requisitions, long approval chains, and manual matching to contracts and vendors. Procurement and finance wanted to cut cycle time and free staff for strategic sourcing while keeping policy and audit controls.

We were asked to design an AI-powered procurement agent that could interpret requisitions, check policy and budget, suggest or match vendors, and route for approval—with full auditability and human override where required.

Approach

We built an agentic workflow that ingested requisitions (structured or free text), validated them against policy and budget, matched to approved vendors and contracts where possible, and routed to the right approvers. The agent logged every step and escalated exceptions. We integrated with existing ERP and procurement systems so the agent could read and update status without replacing core systems.

Solution

We delivered a procurement agent and integration.

We implemented an AI agent that parsed requisitions, applied policy checks, and matched to vendors and contracts. We defined approval rules and escalation paths and built audit logs for every decision. We piloted on a subset of categories and regions, then rolled out with clear governance: what the agent could auto-approve, what needed human sign-off, and how to handle exceptions. Timeline: 12 weeks including pilot.
